The food is both inexpensive and very good. The servers have always been great. The shakes are very good. This restaurant serves simple food that is better than any fast food restaurant at less prices. When I want a burger, I'd pick this place over any fast food drive-thru or yuppie burger joint.

Stoped for a quick lunch stop on our way home. Waited st door. Waited for server. Ordered off of their standard menu food options. Busy but there are 6 servers on the floor. This should happen. They must be crazy with this Steak burger sandwich. It had a small (smaller than a Krystal) on sandwich bread. Spoke to manager and she said this was the corporate's recipe. She said everyone complains when they ordered it. I told her they need to take it off the menu. She made another sandwich for J. Expected what time about 15 minutes. Actual time over an hour.

Horrible. Restaurant was a mess. Floors covered in food and bathrooms deplorable. Basically dumped our food into a bag, burgers not even wrapped. Ridiculous.

I had scheduled to meet a buddy of mine at this place to grab a bite before walking the outlet mall. I got there WAY to early and sat at a booth. I informed the young lady that I was waiting on someone and ordered a soda... And waited... And waited... The young lady was attentive and I didn't just want to take up a booth and not order so I requested their sider sampler. It was tasty... If not a bit greasy. Once my muddy arrived we chowed down and it was enjoyable. The problem I encountered was it seems the young lady who was my server either went on lunch or finished her shift and her replacement was not as diligent. Took forever to get my check. So I recommend for the price and the food is not bad. The service is dependent on who you get as a server. They do have some good servers but not all.

Always good food but the only way to get good quick service is to go through the drive through :(

Typical Steak N Shake. I was happy with my food, however, disappointed with the server arguing with the manager near our table on where he's supposed to clean. He was still arguing with him in the back as we heard it loud and clear. The service was good. Very friendly. It took several minutes to get seated when there were several tables open. Evidently short-handed. We only go when we have a hankering for Steak N Shake once a year.

Let's just say I'll never be back here again! I waited in the drive through for 20 minutes, come to find out they messed up on my order! Then I go inside, talk to the manager and wait another 20 minutes for them to correct their mistake! Yeah... Definitely pass on this location!!!!

Me and my son were heading on a camping trip and we're going to stop here to get to shakes. With the drive thru for convenience two cars in front of us. Literally took 5 minutes for them to say something to us. We looked at the menu and realize this is not the place for us. And drove around and left. Would not recommend the food here and certainly don't want my wife catching me and my son eating here either considering she's a holistic health coach.

If I could give it no stars I would. Didn't get a chance to eat because we waited 40 minutes and didn't even get our drink order taken. The waitresses wouldn't even look at us but chose to flirt with guys at another table. The other waitress disappeared and didn't return. There was one waitress doing her job. I will be returning tomorrow to express my concerns with management. I will post another review based on the outcome.

Worst service ever seen in my life. Lazy waiters, they don't care customers, don't even look at you. Wait more than 20 minutes to be seated. Then wait more than 20 minutes to be service. My patience blow out and we quit. Poor owners these employees are the perfect example of how to destroy a nice place. So, do not recommend this place, will never come there, even if still the last place open in the world.

I found myself increasingly more hungry, alone and on the road. The hour grew late, and darkness spread across the land. Growing tired, my weary eyes met a surprisingly friendly light. As I approached, the aroma of food filled my nostrils. I had a Frisco Melt, but almost perished in the process of receiving my food. I waited approximately one hour for the sandwich, and found no remorse from the inattentive staff, who seemed more interested in relaxation than service. This review earns one star, only because I did not die from starvation.

Well I had one of the best burgers at a steak and shake in New Brunswick, Ga in 97. Apparently that quality doesn't transcend the years. The cheddar burger was greasy and soggy with only melted cheddar cheese and no cheese sauce. Was absolutely horrible. Also got a partly melt and it was soggy as well with a zesty sweet sauce on it that ruined the burger. The only good thing about the visit was the vanilla choc shake and that's what I have the 2 stars for. Lol

I wish I could rate the food at this establishment but I cannot. I waited 10 minutes to even be sat and I had to ask a server to do so. Once sat.....myself and two friends waited and chatted with a couple of people around us. I did not see one table with food in front of them but I still waited seeing as this was the only food open late night near my hotel. The establishment wasn't busy and two waitresses were on staff and yet I still waited 30 more minutes before even being contacted by a waitress who asked "have y'all been served yet?" Obviously we haven't been since we had no drinks in front of us and I had read the menu word for word by then, I'm then asked her how long it would take to get food, to which she responded "awhile." So we all gave up and went back to our hotel hungry where we ordered pizza instead. I've worked in the hospitality industry my entire life so I understand when the kitchen gets slammed or a large party walks in right before you..... The fact is that they had no excuse besides laziness. Service was terrible and it isn't worth your time. Food is the same quality as McDonald's but at least your guaranteed prompt service at McDonald's. Don't waste your time.

Food was okay... The shakes are what set Steak and Shake apart...soooo many choices to choose from! (sigh) try them all... The fries leave something to be desired. Tasted the Frisco Melt which was pretty good :)

When we first moved to Vero 6 years ago we went there and enjoyed their vegetable soup. First ordered a cup then a bowl at a higher price cause we liked it so much. But now having the bowl & cup on the table at the same time something seemed deceiving to me. I emptied my glass of water into the cup. Then took the cup of water and emptied it into the bowl. It filled it right to the top! Why are they charging me more $ for the bowl when its the same amount of soup? They wouldn't own up to it even after I showed it to them. We didn't come back until 6 years later, yesterday. It was only three of us. Mom ordered the chicken fingers with fries and a side of cole slaw. Dad ordered a triple burger with no fries and upgraded for 59 cents for the cup of chili. I ordered the 3 mini burgers with their Frisco sauce and cheese and a 59 cent cup of chili. Our chili never came out. My mini burgers came but with no cheese! Mom's cole slaw never came and dad's triple burger looked like shoe leather. The burgers are very thin and extremely over cooked. The fries look like shoestring fries and under cooked making them rubbery. Can't see how anyone would ever want to go there. What a disgrace. STAY AWAY!

Steak 'n Shake is nothing to write home about. Their food is acceptable (nothing great, but never terrible), the shakes are huge and pretty tasty, and their fries are reliably delicious. What makes this one pretty awesome is the service and cleanliness. It's never been a mess when we've been in there, and the servers are always younger (probably high schoolers) and always super friendly and silly. Anytime we hit up this restaurant it's inevitably late, and quite often we are inebriated. The servers couldn't care less, and almost enjoy the shenanigans. It makes for a reliable, fun, stress-free late night snack before heading home and crashing.

Best burger I ever had... the Wisconsin Buttery. Two burger patties and cheese topped with onions fried in butter. If your looking for a hot of the grill greasy messy burger and fries this is the place. That's the way I like them. I crave these burgers. You can order your burger with whatever toppings on it you want. So damn good! The chili and the shakes are fantastic too. They also have hot pickled peppers in vinegar at the table. I stack those peppers on my burger and splash some of that vinegar sauce in my chili. Kick @ss. I like that they serve Coke Zero too. I know... There's no rational reason to have a diet soda here.
